Sport is a serious business. Anyone that witnessed or read about the outputs from London’s Olympic Games will be only too aware of that. The sector is very significant globally. In Wales alone, spending on sports related goods and services adds up to £707 million and accounts for 2.3% of total consumer expenditure.
For many, it’s also an opportunity to build a rewarding career out of their life passion, whether that be a coach, manager or broadcaster. Latest available employment figures suggest that there are 22,300 employed in the SkillsActive sectors in Wales, 28% of which are managers and senior officials. Further 24% of employers report vacancies in the workforce, making it a very attractive employment route for graduates.
